Motivated

Ever thought about what makes the person work well in his territory. Is it money? or is it some in-kind thing. Well, no body can deny that the primary reason for some one working is money. But as the cliche goes " There are something that buy cant buy" --Thanks to the advertising company responsible for featuring Master card to the market, we do work for something that is above the green 'bamboo-processed-output'( BPO)..dont you think so much. I am talking about the money factor. The second most important thing we work for is praise and recognition.

Yes, I feel motivated today. I am talking about motivation for writing blogs in the internet. The latest motivation being my close relatives who praised and recognised me today after visiting this page and who supposedly have the sense of structuring involved in the field of linguistics. Before that it was my very own brother who appreciated me tons for writing exceptionally. Both of the above mentioned are weighty enough to give me the required enthusiasm.

Also, Yesterday I was reading an article from TOI written by the spectacular "bachi kakaria". As a matter of fact I really love the erratica by her as she explains every little thing in so much an unrequired way. The topic of her yesterday discussion was people tagging her through means like orkut. She is more than disgusted by such e-taporis whom she compared with a road side fellow singing " aati kya khandala". The way she said " clickenge, mailenge, chat karenge or kya" is only a sign of a veteran drawing huge parallels between the common mumbaiya gali scenario and the soft "add as a friend request", an e-manifestation that is ubiquitious in orkut.

I also realized yesterday that for a young "wanna be writers" like me, its not necessary to write everytime necessarily a booker material( PUN intended). The most important aspect of writing is "to keep writing". Thats it. The need of the hour is to search by your side the matters to key down effectively and in the best possible language.

So..to all the young writers..keep writing. Dont think too much.

Long time no blog

This 'no writing bug' is again biting me. I dont know nowadays what to write, How to write , ofcourse subject to the condition that whatever I write must be an original material from my side and should have provoked my thought above a threshold level. That not done, I am still writing something to maintain a good habit and to justify a 'demand-consistency' job like writing, as the cliche goes --if you want to be a writer , keep writing.

To say the least, my reading spree has again gone to a halt and I am fighting hard to make it to the NLG( next level of greatness). But as they say- to see the heaven, one has to die on his own. The funda is that I am already occupied with so many imp things, some of the mentionable ones of which include Job hopping..Yes I am changing job. Reason--do I need to tell you? ha ha..JLT( Just like that).

Apropos that, last week has been quite an ego-booster with leading and eminent personalities craving for my being in the company and giving some non justifiable reason to maintain my status quo and to maintain their job as negotiator when any 'Resource' leaves. But as change is constant ...be it the growth of India's GDP or Abhishek Bacchan's GF, it does reflect in many things near to me , the latest being my cell phone and my job.

For the reading front , I am looking forward to reading a book ' Games Indian Play'. Its a must read for each and every Indian if only the book review column of Business Standard is to be trusted upon. Also, since the book is foreworded by our very own NRN, it must have inculcated very good aspects of taking out the very best out of every Indian.

Last but not the least I am more than sad for leaving Infy. Infosys is a great company to make a start with. At least a person understands the procesess and their importance which are being followed for a panic free delivery of the product. Yes agreed with such processes, innovations are rarely possible but who needs them. At least not these guys in ITES sector.

What else? weekend approaching and an imp function waiting for me at home..

Yes I know..this blog wasnt that hip-hap, quite close to my persona. In days to come it will be filled with my latest experience with new place, job and people accompanying.

KBC

KBC or Kaun Banega Crorepati is a big hit again. Now don’t start saying stereotypically that Amitabh was better than Shahrukh. Both are different and well accepted charismatic characters with many things in common , DON being the last thing. That was pretty logical that if some one could take Amitabh’s place, that couldn’t be other than SRK.

I have been watching the new KBC for quite a sometime and have observed the strategy that every time that HOT SEAT contestant uses to maximize the amount of money won. This discourse is to suggest an ideal strategy for playing KBC when you are in the hot seat.

First and foremost the most important strategy is not to use any life lines for first 5 questions after which you get the “flip the question” life line which is an extremely important life line. Come on ! this is pretty simple if luck is lil bit by your side. This done, the next step is to concentrate on the usage of the originally available life lines.

So here it goes: The first wrong thing that every contestant does is taking the audience poll as soon as he/she fails for the first time. This is a clear cut “illogical” strategy. Why to take audience poll in such an infant stage? The best strategy to use when you are below 1,60,000 or 6,40,000 is to flip the question. That’s obvious that when you are in low amount questions the flipped question will be replaced by an equally easy question which you can possibly answer with lil bit of fight. So, the first strategy to use should be none other than “flip the question”.

The next life line that needs to be taken is necessarily is “50/50”. This is a very good life line again and helps eliminate the possible wrong answers. Assuming that the person knows atleast 1-2 options by his hitherto experience, he’ll be able to eliminate the trap and come out with flying colors.

Then comes the turn of “phone a friend”. That dependent on how much knowledgeable the rang person is, will get you the amount or will get you in a deep shit. It’s also a good algorithm to keep the 50/50 ready after ringing a friend. That should take you very near to the right answer.

The last life line to be used is the “audience pole”. Don’t underestimate the audience and of course don’t reject the statistics. Both in a coupled way are capable of giving great results. That coupled with a little intelligence and of course our thinking cap which, surprisingly works wonders in itself, can do miracles.

Note: this algorithm when followed with a few ups and downs can work wonders. The first step should be the first step and the last step should be the last step. The rest of the steps are flexible to be used. I think, if the above algorithm is followed religiously, the amount of rupees won will go definitely go higher.

team india

India’s failure in the world cup is an official acceptance now. As the stature of the game demands, it has its reach to almost everything we do in day today life. Why to go far? Only today I was irritated after watching Sachin doing a CANON ad. We all are supposedly disappointed about India’s failure and are still not ready to accept it as the final super eight list is announced.

I can still see many sms, and being part of the giant software industry which is integral to the nation in contributing almost 5% to the GDP, have been lucky to get those forward mails which say that the team of Bangladesh is accused of taking performance enhancing drugs (PEDs) and so, are out of the world cup.

Agreed, it’s just a forward mail but the person who has started rotating such mails is obviously a sentimental fool who is trying to disseminate the idea of failure and more important try to imagine something unimaginable and only, far from truth. The need of the hour is to understand that no team is small and no team is big. It’s only about that day and this holds true for most of the things in life.

Cricket is first the uncertain game and then the property of us Indians. In my view the loss at the world cup is just a game loss to Bangladesh than the claimed inglorious exit. The formula is ready. The team which will be in top 2 will proceed to the next level. In some department some field is better than you. That’s it. Its not that you are bad. It’s just that they are better. Fundamentally, there should not be any problem in accepting that some body was better than you that day.

It happens sometimes and it happened that day.

I don’t understand why people correlate the endorsements to cricket and make a huge cry out of it. There’s hardly 2 weeks in an year which occupies these people for ads. Rest days are with them. So doing too much ads is not the key to loss in the world cup.

The only thing is that we don’t want to accept that its only human to not perform sometimes. This whole song is all because it is world cup. Had that been a tri series at west-endies, reactions would have been quite shallow and decaying in nature. So lets forget that it was world cup. Basically and fundamentally, we have lost a game. Just a game which was necessary to be won. That we are out is a result of the same.

The point to ponder is from Narayan Murthy who blames it on Indian team for not following the processes and making a mock of it. That’s acceptable. The idea that processes need to be followed at every cost is perfectly fine, although I am not sure whether NRN went to the practice ground and saw dada or dravid practicing. In my view being a person fond of processes and practices he is not able to see things as a bad day and is forced to blame it on processes and practices rather than thinking for the performance. Probably he is having a view in his mind that if processes are followed no body can loose, which according to me is not the right idea. That’s because if your team is CMM5 , the other team is not CMM4.

My biggest sympathy is with greg chappel. Why to drag coach in all this. He coaches people to perform at the optimum level. His task is to motivate people and make them follow the process at every cost. Now if the whole team debacles in the ground is not because of him or not only his responsibility. Further, changing a coach is not at all a solution to the problem.

So guys it’s not the time to blame. Things may seem to be perfect before match and yet fail because it’s always the relative performance that matters.
